Analysis paralysis

Analysis paralysis happens when teams get stuck trying to make a decision because they have too much information or too many choices. It’s like being frozen in place because you’re overwhelmed by all the options.

This happens a lot when there’s a big decision to make or a lot of factors to consider. The tema mebers might spend too much time thinking and researching, trying to make sure they make the perfect choice. But the more they think, the more confused and unsure they become, and they end up not making any decision at all.

The cause for such a behaviour is the need for control or the fear of making a wrong decision.

Try this: If possible, cut down big decisions into smaller chunks. Limit yourself to few options and encourage an simple or quick decision process. Build trust and confidence within the team to reduce the fear of mistakes.
